So, I switched Noahkins over to Similac about a week ago. He had been on Enfamil since I stopped nursing (close to a month).

Well, we noticed that his diapers on Similac are completely gross and icky. Kind of like he's sick. With Enfamil, they seemed "normal." Although he's acting fine, DH and I are worried.

I've been told that Similac is a close match to Enfamil. Is this true. I know that the DHA/ARA levels are slightly lower, but Similac does cause LESS gas...

What do you gals think? Should we consider switching him back?

When I was nursing Hailey we would supplement with formula..and I think when I tried Similac it gave her nasty diapers also. I ended up using Good Start Supreme with DHA the whole time.

I would think less gas is more important than nasty diapers. They will get nasty when he starts solids anyway. But you could try a different brand and see if there is any improvement.

I used formula with Thomas and a little with Lauryn towards the end of nursing. I don't really remember if I even used Similac, but we had issues with the Enfamil causing constipation. We also used the Carnation Good Start and it worked out really well.
