Christine's post really got me thinking...how much formula are they suposed to be getting a day? He won't drink out of the bottle really, only a few sips at a time (like a cup) but i have only been putting juice/water in the sippy cups, and refilling thoes with juice/water. Now I don't think we are getting enough formula, but tomorrow i will start putting formula in the cups.
How much are they suposed to be getting?? (OZ wise...)
I'm not exactly sure. Ian gets about 28-32 oz of formula a day. Some days more... but never less. He's never had juice, he doesn't need it. He gets water in a sippy cup, but I've never put formula in one for any of my kids.
Tyler's Ped told me that he still needs 24 to 26 oz of formula a day. Tyler gets about 36 oz of formula and milk mixture a day from bottles and then probably about 10 oz of juice and water from a cup. Now wonder the boy pee's all the time.
It's hard for me to say because I am also still nursing...but I know she has one 8oz bottle the nights when I am at work...Sometimes one during the day to if we are running around. She does not care for juice all that much for some reason..but I am going to try again soon. I am going to start formula in a cup really soon, I have been lazy with starting the cup.
Ethan has 3 bottles a day (he is on Whole milk now b/c he flat out refused his formula a few weeks back) so about 24 oz and then I give him milk in his cup for meals and water / juice for snacks.
