We use Gentlease, switching from Lipil w/iron..he did good on it in the begining, but now I'm not so sure. I think Nugemien <sp?> is our next step. We have a dr.'s apt next week. I have some EBM, and i'm scared to give it to him, since he had such a problem with my milk in the begining...what should I do with it?

I used to switch back and forth with different formula for Thomas, but he was a little older (at least 3-4 months when I started supplementing) and never had a problem except with constipation occasionally.

Jessica- as far as the fbm. Keep it and try again in a few months. It's good for 4 to 6 months in a regular freezer and up to 12 months in a deep freeze.

Emma,
Will it mess his system up giving him the EBM? He hasnt had it since he was about 2 weeks old.
I would only be able to give him 1-2 bottles of it.

Who knows what is going on with the poor kid and his allergies...I don't know what to look for with an allergy, since I don't know anyone personally who's kids have had them...I think he might have a milk protein allergy, but I tend to over react, so I don' tknow...he seemed very allergic to my BM. Looking back, I wish I would have stayed with it longer...I felt like i gave up to soon. Maybe he wasn't allergic to it, maybe I just didn't give it enough of a try...
He's got a really red bum, and he spits up soooo much all of a sudden...I thaught it was because I was moveing him to soon after he ate, or not burping him good (he dosen't burp that often) He could be laying down, sitting up, walking around...anything, and he sptis up...I can't wait for our Dr.'s apt, but I don't want him to get his shots It makes me upset I am inflicting pain on him

Jessica- It really sounds like he has a sensitivity to something and it's not that easy to figure out. Don't be hard on yourself. Maybe he would also do better if given something for the reflux. If you're not comfy waiting 'til his appointment, call the Dr tomorrow and ask to speak to the nurse about it. Let us know how it goes.

We were put on Gentleease, and the first day it was wonderful! NO spitting up, no gas, no crying.

2nd day.... CONSTANT spitting up, moreso than normal. We tried for 3 days to let him "regulate" to it....but gave up.

So, we went back to Lactofree Enfamil - and he's better.
