When Dean was around 4 months old, I tried the rice cereal. It gave him diareaha, so i tried oatmeal the next day i think. Then he had bloody diareaha. I'm wondering if now that he is older, I should try it again. I know he is ok with barley, since that is the main ingredent in his teething cookies. The GI said to test a little on his arm, and if he dosne't have a reaction, then to go ahead and give him 1/2 tsp of it in the morning and see how he dose. Would you do it, or skip it all together?
Part II:
I have figured out Dean dosen't like purees. I boiled an apple and a pear this morning, and he LOVES it!! He won't take it off a spoon, only off my finger(my monster in laws were OUTRAGED at this) but he LOVED it! Any other fruits I can try? For some reason i'm stuck on apple, bannana, and pears. What are my other options? How long to they stay good in the fridge?
You can always freeze you purees in ice cube trays for later use. Oranges and berries are out. How about grapes, plums or prunes?
With deans issues, it wouldn't be a bad idea to follow the GI's suggestion for new foods. Just look at what happened to Kris's Ian when he was exposed to eggs and he didn't even eat them! Good luck!
