DH thinks i'm trying to keep him a baby, and "holding him back" because i'm really not doing soilds. Dose he want them, yes. I gave him some last night before bed, and he loved it. I just don't remember how to get started, we started Mike at 3 months.
I have been doing it randomly. Can someone help? How long do we stay on stage 1? We're still on them, and he's still not really "mastered" it yet.
Sugestions?

since he hasn't really mastered it yet, I would stay on the stage 1's for now.
I didn't really use the jarred babyfood (as I made my own) except for when we went out, I think I moved on to the stage 2 when they seemed to need "more"
Mason was on table food at 8 months and Mikayla at 9, but that was them. Dean is a different baby, and he may need more time.
I used this as a guide when introducing solids
http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/solids.htm
I printed it out and stuck it on my cabinet

Since Sarah was over 6 months I went striaght to stage 2 foods. She was old enough that she liked the thicker texture better. I also did a lot of bananas, avacodos, and steamed veggies with her. I would just take some out for her before I seasoned them. It made it easier because she was eating what we were, but bland.

As others have said, every child is different. And 3 months is way to early to be starting solids - even though some doctors are still advocating it.
Dean is now at an age that is pretty "normal" - at least according to the AAP to be starting solids. Right now, with all his food reactions, I wouldn't go beyond stage one until you have made sure he is OK with a certain food. You could make your own baby food if you want. LLL advocates mashing bananas, cooked sweet potatoes, and ripe avocados for first foods. Most babies tolerate those foods and they are easy to prepare yourself.
Stage 2 foods start mixing ingredients, so I would be careful about those right now. Stage 3 they start getting chunky bits in them.
I didn't give Liriel much for solids until she was 8-9 months old. In part because she just wasn't that interested. Though she did get some at daycare.
If you don't already have one, you could pick up a hand food grinder sold in baby departments. They will let you grind up your own meats and veggies to an appropriate consistency - tough you may need to add a little water or EBM to it.

I have a little food prcoessor that i use. I always end up making too much. I tried avacado, and he loved it, but it gave him gas, i've tried butternut squash, and he LOVED it. Those are the only ones i've done by making my own. Everything else has been jarred.
i did bannanas and avacado last night, trying to bind him up a little, but i don't know if i'm doing it right(sounds silly huh...) He's drooling a ton, so i think we have teeth coming.
I put some in, and with all the drool, sometimes it comes back out. He insists on holding the spoon himself, so it's a bit messy, and we don't get a lot in his mouth.
He wants what i'm eating, not the baby food. If he can grab it, he will put it in his mouth. He has done this with gatorade(stuck his hand in it last night and shoved it in his mouth) he has take food off my plate if he';s close enough, and if i'm holding him, he tries to get what i'm eating in his mouth.
I just called the GI for any ideas too....
