I gave Dean prunes this mornig for breakfast, since it's been almost a week since we pooped...(the dr gave me something to make him poop, but Dh refuses to give him any more meds right now :eyeroll:) He spit up a little bit around 11:30, and it looked kind of dark brown...(specks of dark brown) you would think that is the prunes and not blood right?? I just need a little reassurance, since it's been almost 3 hrs since he ate them....

Yup, I would say prunes. When Jayden eats them... OMG.... he has ruined outfits - yuck!

What did they give you for his constipation? I've found that if I give Jayden a dose every few days and give him straight juice everyday - he poop's everyday (and its the good kind). If i skip a day of juice he doesn't poop at all that day.

They gave us lactulose. I'm scared to use it, since they told me it would cause diareaha until we got the dose figured out. The prunes have not worked yet, but she told me he could just not be "regular"..i just don't know what to do anymore....

While I'm not a big fan of drugging kids up any more than you really must. The question is - would you rather deal with a little diarrhea while you figure out the dose or let him be miserable from constipation? I'm not saying either is right - just some thing to consider since you say it's been almost a week. But the real question is - how is Dean doing? Is he happy or does he seem uncomfortable from not popping?

Consider doing some tummy rubs. Gently rub your hand in a clock wise direction on his tummy. This is suppose to help move things along. The opposite direction cause the other problem.

Also doing bicycles with his legs - that might help move things along as well.
