sippy cups
Dean is really interested in cups and stuff. I really don't want to give him a bottle if i can avoid it....I tried giving him a trainer cup with water in it, and he gobbled it down. I don't really want to give him anything but breastmilk, but I want him to get used to his cup. I had to throw out all the milk i pumped cause it had egg in it, so now i'm back to square one, and had to rent the pump for another month. Any sugestions?

Austin is using a sippy cup as well. We put EBM or juice in it for breakfast/lunch/dinner time. But, we only put 1-2 oz at a time, and no more than 4oz of diluted juice per DAY.
I'm a little confused on your question. Are you questioning what kind of cup to use or are you concerned that he's drinking out of one? Please clairify... **sorry!**

I guess just put the EBM in there since you did rent it for another month... But I am interested to see what other people have to say too

I agree with Bel, what's the question exactly?
I know with Tai we only used a bottle a few times when he was very young when we went on dates but other than that it was straight to a sippy. I can't remember how old he was at the time but it was just small amounts of water and diluted juice, nothing much. I'm sure you could put the EBM in there if that's what he wants to drink out of.

I don't see anything wrong with giving him a sippy with EBM or water in it. If he wants it OK - if he doesn't - OK too. Though if he likes it, you have another way for others to give him EBM when your not home that will hopefully avoid nipple confusion.

ok, my CLEAR question....
Is it ok to give him a sippy cup, and bypass the bottle?
Is it ok for him to have a little bit of water? I know they say they shouldn't have anything to drink but BM or formula for like the first 6 months....
did anyone by pass the bottle all together?

Kate was only on the bottle for about 4-5 months...she hated the bottle from day one and was refusing it at dc so they tried a sippy and she was thrilled so that is what we did, i started with the nubby sippys and went later to the playtex ones.

No bottles here, sippy cups for both boys starting at 4-5 months, Ty is now taking 2-4 ounces of water or EBM with each meal. Neither of my boys ever would really take bottles. My MIL has not had trouble getting EBM into Ty using a sippy cup either.
