Default Breastfeeding Bottles

What would you guys recommend for bottles while I'm breastfeeding? I will be returning to work and pumping from work and am trying to find bottles that will help avoid nipple confusion.

Any suggestions???

The problem is it depends on the child. Each has their own preference. I would not pick up a bunch of 1 kind of bottles until you know what works for your DC. I say pick of a mix of different kinds. The wide mouth ones are suppose to be better, but my child prefered the regular old bottles. Eventually they found she liked the Pletex Vent Air bottles the best. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index...ductId=2408953

When they are 4-6 weeks old - and nursing well - is when your suppose to try to introduce the bottle to a breastfed baby (that will need to be bottle fed). Too soon and you have nipple confusiong. Wait too long and they may reject it all together. Make sure you are using SLOW FLOW nipples. You don't want him to get use to a much faster flow of the bottle and reject nursing as too slow. It would also probably work best if you are not in the room and someone else gives the bottle to the baby. Because if you are there, why take the plastic junk when warm suggly momma is near by. LOL

Then keep giving a bottle a couple times a week till baby is in DC and getting it regualarly anyway. I messed up on not giving a bottle 1-2 times a week till she went to DC. So when I dropped my child off in DC, she was refusing bottles. I gave them a bunch of different bottles and nipples to try. The first day or 2 were not fun for my poor little girl, but eventually she took a bottle at DC, but not from me.

We use the Avent bottles, both my kids were/are fine with them.

But like Rebecca said it really depends on the kid, so try a few different ones

Rebecca has some good points. With Thomas we tried the old fashioned nipples/bottles, and dr Browns and he hated both of those. We switched him to Avent and he did well with those and so did Lauryn. Don't go crazy buying a ton of any one kind. Wait and see what Austin is most receptive to

I agree with the girls...we started on Avent...after a while she started to refuse them...we then went to the playtex nursers.

Sounds good. I definitely don't plan on introducing the bottle until 4-6 weeks anyway...but, was just curious on what kinds to try. Thanks girls!
