Default Fish

I went to the store to get some new things for DD to eat. One of the things I got were fish sticks. They're made with fish fillets (pollack, cod or whiting). Is that ok to give to DD? Another one said it just contained pollack but I bought this one b/c the other one said "may contain bones" or something like that. TIA.

I think it's ok. We've given Thomas fish sticks several times from about the age of 1. He doesn't care for them too much, but we've never had any problems from them.

ETA: Lauryn likes Tuna. I don't think she's had fish sticks b4 though.

After age 1 fish should be fine for most children. I would agree - stay away from the one that said it may contain bones.

Tuna is fine in moderation. Just avoid Albcore - which is particularly high in mercury. I think that's the more expensive stuff anyway.

Liriel isn't too keen on fish yet. And Tuna she just turns away from in disgust.

Jen, that is too funny. I HATE fish too. Everyone around here thinks I'm a freak, but it's just nasty. I occassionaly eat tuna, with lots of mayo and relish, but that's about it. I try to get the kids to eat it because I know how good it is for you, but EWWWWWWWW! i'm doing good not to pull a face while Thomas and Dh eat it.

I hate fish to in general...but will eat fish sticks on occasion. I do like shrimp though. I had actually thought about buying some the other day. I am sure she is tired of eating the same things all the time for lunch. I feel like I am in a rut of grillled cheese, spaghettios, macoroni and the Gerber GRaduates things.
