I love my boys!!

Ok, since Michael has found his independince....i need some ideas on what are good things to feed him......i'm looking for something quick, since it takes him so long to eat. This morning he had 1 pancake, for lunch, he had 1/2 container of the toddler ravioli, and some cut up green beans, and then a jar of fruit.....what have you tried that you found sucess with? I don't make a lot of variety with dinner, since we are trying to stick to 1600/calories a day...usually it's steak and brown rice...i'm scared to give him either one of thoes...sometimes it's chicken and whole wheat eggnoodles, which he dose fine with.....?????
I'm sick of mac and cheese, which has been a staple in his diet since he has been "feeding himself" |

Yes... I'm an arcade addict!!

I wish I could help Jess, but Carter still gets a lot of baby food. We have been giving him fruit chunks and cut up green beans, but not much more than that. I'm getting more ideas from you...pancakes, mac and cheese (though I'm not sure about the cheese), egg noodles....
Can I ask why you are sticking to 1600 calories a day? Did I miss something? |

I am not really feeding much finger foods but I have been reading a little for when I start. They gave some ideas of avacado, squash, egg whites, cheese, fruits (not citris) wheat puffs, rice,
You can also probably give him brown pasta cut up and stuff like that ![]() |

Actually, egg whites should be reserved for older babies - it's the yolk that is ok for this age (unless there is a history of allergy).
Ian loves chicken, melon, rice pasta with tomato sauce, sweet potatoes, cheese, wheat bread, etc. |

Okay...well I'm all about quick so here are some of the things we give Caleb.
pancakes, scrambled eggs, french toast sticks (no syrup, softened a little in BM if needed) cut up cheese, canned pears and peaches, bananas, any veggie cooked soft (potatoe, sweet potatoe, green beans, lima beans, corn, squash, etc) crackers, mac and cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches (cut up, no crust and still a little soft), grilled chicken, ground beef, noodles in tomato sauce, chicken noodle soup (very little broth, lots of noodles I know there is more but I can't think of anything else right now. Pretty much anything we eat, he eats. I was keeping him off dairy for awhile but it didn't seem to make much of a difference (with his ear infections) so I've sort of been slacking off in that area. So there you have it..... I'm crazy!!

Ethan eats pretty much what we eat too. One thing he LOVES is noodles with tomato juice and bread and butter with it! This is a good thing b/c it has been a craving of mine the past 4 weeks and we eat it about every day for lunch!
We give him little bits of everything - just cut it up real small, no crusts, etc. I make breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day so he does get a good variety of things. For his "snacks" I usually give him his puffs or wheels. He did get a hold of a cookie last week from my second DD and all the evidence was left was all the chocolate all around his face and hands.... If anything make up things ahead for the week for him so you can just pull them out and warm them up on week nights. |

Welcome home baby Lily!!!
|
Hayden still eats a lot of baby food but I always give him bites of what we are eating. He does fine with both. Yesterday I gave him a bit of chicken and some stuffing and he really like it. Fortunately he's not a picky eater. He'll try anything and about the only thing he's turned his nose up at is green beans...in baby food and the real thing.
