If Ty says it's big, then trust him - it's BIG!

when do we let them go on their own with some foods?
Tyler loves the biter biscuits but I get really nervous when they get so soft and chunks break off in his mouth. I hate to violate him by digging them out of there but they can be big chunks.Another thing he likes is oranges. I know he doesn't need a lot of them at one time but I hate to deny him something so good for him. I have just been letting him bite and suck of the wedges.think it would be better if I cut chunks and gave it to him that way?I have a friend that has a boy a month younger than Ty and she gives him whole French fries. I would be terrified. how big of bites are you giving your babies? |

It depends. I give Caleb whole french fries. I also give him cookies and crackers whole. Pretty much everything else I cut up. I've found with the biter biscuts or toast he spits the big chunks out rather than trying to swallow them. But I know what you mean, sometimes I sit there with my finger ready to scoop out his mouth...gross I know!

Ian gets whole fries, crackers, and biter biscuits too. Though, Ian's biter bisquits are the Earth's Best Maple ones...and even I can't bite those things! LOL!
We don't do any citrus fruit here yet, but I would make sure that none of the skin (the white membrane) stuff is left on the oranges. I LOVE oranges, but I have a tendancy to go "hog wild" with them!! Ian also eats Kix and Cheerios whole. And, he's had pasta, but when he has rice noodles (elbows) I usually cut them in 1/4's and let him moosh them up that way. On Mom's day, we went to Outback and they gave him a little bag of animal crackers while we were waiting. He ate 2 of those, and a whole bunch of their bread!! He loved that stuff. He had some of my Alice Springs chicken, some of my broccoli, and a couple of Adam's fries. Today he shared a french bread pizza with me, for lunch. Umm...and I just shared a cup of chocolate pudding with him. OMG, he LOVED it. (I should not have let him have that.... yet!) |

Thanks. I don't know why FF have always made me nervous but they do. I will have to get over it and try them whole next time. Another thing I found that Ty likes is the Ramen soups.I made one for Rachie the other day and gave him a few bites and he devoured it. Breads are another fav around here. There is no more eating with out sharing when Tyler is awake in the house.

I know fries are bad. =( But, wow...he loves them. I don't let him have McD's or BK - but he's had the thick cut ones from a local bbq place, and the ones from Outback (Aussie Chips).
Keeping fries away from the big kids is a chore, LOL! |
