Gerber Fruit/Veg. Puffs
My baby loves her fruit & veggie puffs. It's a struggle to get her to take jarred baby food, though. Sometimes she takes it, sometimes not. I feel like I waste a lot of it. If I just gave her the fruit and veggie puffs, would that be enough? or should I continue to try the jarred food? I *think* she likes the puffs so much b/c she can pick them up and feed herself....

Re: Gerber Fruit/Veg. Puffs
Ian wants nothing to do with jarred foods. So, we share what we are eating with him, and let him have the puffs as a treat. =)
I would not offer puffs until he's already had a regular meal. But, remember... babies tummies are no bigger than their fists, so they certainly don't need much! =)

I agree with Kris. Try and get her to eat real food first and then offer the puffs. Maybe she's ready to try table food cut up in bit sized pieces.

What kind of real food could I offer her? She doesn't have any teeth yet and I'm a bit concerned about her choking. She's gagged on the puffs before but was ok since they dissolve easily.....

Re: Gerber Fruit/Veg. Puffs
I let Ian eat pretty much whatever he wants... pasta, chicken, soft cooked veggies, mashed potatoes... etc. Ian only has about 1/4 of a tooth, so he certainly doesn't use them to chew. I tear chicken apart, I cut pasta into tiny tiny bites. Small enough that if he is unable to "chomp" it - he can gum it and swallow.
He also LOVES Kix and likes Cheerios a lot.

Re: Gerber Fruit/Veg. Puffs
Lauryn loves pasta, mac and cheese, tiny bits of meat (chicken mainly). I've tried the gerber graduate veggies and she won't touch them. I put the veggies in plain yogurt just to get them down her. She doesn't like the baby cereal anymore, so I made those teething biscuits out of it and give it to her that way. Of course, then it has sugar in it
For breakfast she also likes pancakes, french toast, waffles (without syrup). This stage is a little tricky because you do want them to get the nutrients, but trying to get them to eat isn't always easy.

I agree with the others with letting her eat tiny bits of foods you are eating. I too just tear off little bits of what ever we are eating and put it on Ty's tray and let him go at it. Last night was spaghetti, What a mess but boy did he love it.

Oh yeah, I think you should try it! Pretty much anything soft is great to start with. We did soft chunks of sweet potatoe, avacado, and baked squash.
