Stage 3's

Anyone on them yet? We are doing just the dinners. I was really worried when i saw how big the chuncks were....(whole peas and stuff) The first night i was giving him one little pea at a time, and then one little potato at a time, it took forever! Tonight I just gave him spoonfuls, and he did really well with it. When he had to burp, you could tell he wasn't getting it down, or that it was coming back up.....He's been acting weird all day....I think it's a lot to do with teeth.

Just wondering where everyone else was at. Here is what we feed him during the day:

4-6 oz bottle
breakfast: jar of fruit, or a jar or "breakfast" stuff (oatmeal/apples, granola/pears) and juice
2-4 oz bottle
fruit puffs
1 4 oz jar of veggie, 1 4 oz jar of fruit, and sometimes some mac and cheese or spagetti o's or something in that category with the veggies and fruit
2-4oz bottle
2 oz jar of fruit
some of what we have for dinner
a 6oz jar of "dinner" stage 3, and a 4 oz jar of fruit 2-4 oz of bottle with dinner
2-4 oz before bed

I know he's not getting enough formula from what i just added up, but the kid just won't take any more. I only offer juice with breakfast, and all the rest of the time, i give him formula. He turns his head and says "no" when i give him any more than that. Whenever we do anything, i always offer him something to drink, but he wants nothing to do with it.

We are 90+% breastfed still here. Liriel gets oatmeal 1x a day at daycare and then a little of what I'm having for supper and that's about it. I probably need to start feeding her every evening on a regular basis now - get into the habit of making healthy food for the 2 of us.

We've been doing stage 3 for a while now. Ian loves the Earth's Best chunky fruits. But for the most part, he won't take babyfood anymore. He wants what we are eating, and we are pretty much happy to oblige. Last night we went to the Rainforest Cafe' for dinner and he had Dino chicken and fries. And he had some Jicama from my salad, and fruit puffs.

He really loves Rice pasta, I've made that for them for lunch - and Ian just gobbles it right up!!

The Earth's Best stage 3's are SO expensive - $1.19 for a jar. And, a lot of them have carrots or peaches as an ingredient in the mixed foods, so I'm avoiding them.

We are hardly doing babyfood anymore. Mostly just the morning, any other time he gets frustrated and screams cause he wants to feed himself.

we are only eating 2 meals a day and the rest is bf'd.

I am staying away from baby food as much as possible, so I take chicken and put it in the food processor and put that is w/ veggies. I do sweet potatoes mash those up.

Baby food is so expensive and w/ the cost of gas, and a grocery store is 40 min away I am trying to cut where I can.

Lauryn never liked the stage 3, so we occasionally still do the stage 2s, but she gets a lot of table food. She had a yo-baby yogurt w/ cereal for breakfast this morning and 1/2 a waffle. she nurses once in the middle of the night, once at 8am b4 breakfast, nurses or gets a bottle of EBM mid-morning b4 nap, lunch is either a couple jars of food or mac and cheese, or spagetti or something similar and water. She has another bottle or nurses mid afternoon b4 nap. Dinner is similar to lunch and she has another bottle or nurses b4 bed at 8pm.

I have some that we take "on the go" but Ethan pretty much just eats what ever we are eating. Aside from his cereal he has in the mornings. But he does like the 3's and has for some time. He just prefers to have what we or the girls are having. Like he is really a big boy!
