How did you start introducing reall food. We have done sweet potatoes and Mashed potatoes. we have a food mesh bag but I don't put much in it. What have you guys put in the food mesh bag besided banana's. Baby food is so expensive. I forgot to get the veggie puffs this week so I will have to wait till next. Ideas!!! TIA |

In the mesh feeder I put apples, bannanas, cantelope, grapes with the skin off, and icecubes made of juice. I was just thinking of stopping to get some cherrios to try those out. I only have done mashed potatoes besides that because she seemed to choke on everything I tried, even the gerber puffs. But magically this week those are ok too. It seems to just have happened overnight. I also bought some of that YO baby yogurt to try as well. Anyone else try yogurt yet??

From what I have read you can start babies on cheese and yogurt between 8-10 months. They are different then cows milk. I think it has something to do with the way it's processed. I am looking for the yo baby yogurt with cereal. It would be a great breakfast!!

Jess....I also looked for those with no luck but since it is new that is probably why it isnt anywhere yet. I also just called stonyfield and they said 8-10 months is true for starting babies on yobaby yogurt. So I may try one tonight to see how she does on it. I got banana since she loves them so much.

I asked my Doc about yogurt and cheese between 8-10 months and he said that that was fine.
I don't buy much baby food anymore and haven't for a while, I buy a few jars to take out if we go out to eat but that's it. I make all of it. It's sooo much cheaper. We also no longer use the mesh feeder, he prefers to feed him self. Breakfast is the only meal he will allow me to feed him, and sometimes if he wants a taste of what I have http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/solids.htm This is the chart I go by as to what to introduce and when. HTH! |
