I started giving Maddox sweet potatos last week. He gets about a tsp of cereal in the morning and half a jar of food at lunch so far. He did okay with the sweet potatos so 2 days ago I thought I would introduce pears with his lunch. They made him gag and dry heave

I've heard that some babies simply don't like baby food. Or maybe it's the slimy texture he doesn't like? Have you tried giving him any table foods yet? I've noticed that Carson prefers table foods to jared foods anymore.

Same here, Caleb prefers table food to baby food. We are still doing pretty much the same amounts of food as you are. Little bit of rice cereal or oatmeal in the morning and 1/3-1/2 jar of veggies at lunch and he eats some table food (green beans, mashed potatoes, bananas, gerber puffs, and bread mainly.) Other than that I just nurse. When he starts picking up foods better with his fingers I'll start feeding him more finger foods at each meal time.

Welcome home baby Lily!!!

Hayden is starting to prefer our food over the baby food. Everything that we eat he will cry and reach for it wanting a bite. Last night we went out to eat at Red Lobster and I ordered a baked potato plain with just pico de gal. I gave him some of the plain potato and he ate it up. Plus I he had some applesauce from DS's meal.
I'd give it time and just try a bit each day. Maybe try some rice cereal mixed with some breast milk. I always make Hayden's cereal with formula instead of water. |

Jake is super picky and so far while he acts like he wants what we are having, he will not actually take a bite. Actually tonight to my surprise he stuck a french fry in his mouth and then gagged! I mix his cereal with breastmilk and he never refuses that. Also each new food I mix with a timy bit of breastmilk so he will try it. He LOVES sweet potatoes and garden veggies but no fruits-absolutely no fruits. Also are you feeding him when he is really hungry or do you nurse him first? I usually nurse first but in the beginning with solids I had to wait until after or he wasn't hungry enough to try anything. Maybe try the mixed in BM to see how he does. I figured it was a familiar taste with something new. Sorry he's giving you a tough time!

I also do BM in cereal...plus instead of the plain cereal...she wont even touch that I buy the oatmeal with bananas or rice with apples...she wont eat green veggies...only squash and sweet potatoes...and fruit she loves anything with bananas in it...hates pears and peaches and only tolerates apples. She also wants our food, i have given her mashed potatoes from the table but the texture is kinda weird to her and she kinda gags and does the body shaking.

Giving away FREE crotch extenders -- do I have any takers??

I would try a little table food too. You could still introduce 1 new food every few days to see how he does. Lauryn also prefers table food and is getting to where she refuses the fruits. She really prefers the meat and veggies.
