real food
I got some of the veggie puffs today, and Michael didn't really like them. He made a face, sucked on the tiny piece i gave him, swolled it, and shook his whole body like i gave him a lemon or something. I also got cheerios, but we didn't try them yet. Maybe he just isn't ready? He's very happy with his baby food still....

Re: real food
could be..
When I first started the puffs, I broke them up cause I was so afraid of him choking. within a week he was eating them whole AND feeding to himself.
Now I'm finding myself wondering if I should just give him finger foods, cause at lunch and dinner the only things he seems to want to eat are what he can feed to himself. I still think he's too young though

Re: real food
Jake has the same response to the puffs-we get sweet potato ones-which he LOVES sweet potato but just doesn't seem that big into the finger food stuff. I also think he is just not ready, but I continue to offer them regularly-like almost every meal just so he can practice and the thing is, his tastes change so much and quickly so I would bet Michael made that face because it was something new and also a different texture. I think the baby food is great and keep letting him try new stuff, when he is ready he will gobble it up. I think a lot of kids have trouble with the texture of different finger foods, and it takes a bit to get used to. GL

Lauryn hates the fruit ones, but likes the sweet potato ones. She likes cheerios better than any of the puffs or wheels.

Re: real food
Ian LOVES the puffs, both banana and sweet potato. I break them in half for him, and he munches away.
We've not tried cheerios yet. Ian still is toothless and they don't melt as easily as the puffs, and he has yet to grasp the concept of chewing! =)
But, we are still going REALLY slowly with food introductions. He's reacted to a couple more things, and it's really frustrating!

They're the Gerber dissolve in the mouth baby puffs. Kinda like Cherrio's but they're star shapped and they dissolve quickly for babies.
Carson loves those. And all flavors too! He can't pick them up & feed them to himself yet but as soon as I throw one in he starts chomping on them with his gums. No more dissolving in his mouth.

Ethan loves this stuff. He loves to sit in the highchair and feed himself while I clean up the kitchen. He gets really messy but it keeps him content and out of the dishwasher for a few minutes!
