OK - what would be appropriate attire for a job interview these days? Think professional level office type job? I went to JcPenny's and picked up some stuff last night that fit - as everything I own that would be passable is too small for me. Need to lose weight so they fit again.
Acquired: Black slacks, Black skirt, black suit jacket (winter collection on-sale) But I need some kind of shirt to go with it. What color? Almost anything matches. Are pants or knee length skirt better? What kind of shoes? Can I wear comfortable shoes or do I need portable torture chambers? I also picked up on clearance a linen skirt, white suit jacket, and another pair of black slacks. I figure I probably won't be able to wear jeans and T-shirts to my next job. Like I can most days now. ![]() |

Giving away FREE crotch extenders -- do I have any takers??
|
For my last interview I wore a black pant suit with black boots I had and a shell in peach/lime/cream/black stripe (v-neck and no collar). You don't want to look drab, but you don't want to look too flashy either. I'm more comfy in slacks, but a skirt would work too (especially if interviewing with a man

Wear the skirt....as least that is the rule in the legal profession. You cannot go wrong with that, since some folks are offended by pants - dumb, I know.
With regard to a top, a shell or nice camisole in an appropriate choice. Go seasonal with the colors, or you cannot go wrong with ivory, white, black, plum, etc... Shoes, I would go with closed toe heels. The trend right now is more of a boxed toe, but you can also do a pointy toe. A height from 1 1/2 inches to 3 is appropriate. Try to stay away from flats in a skirt....they do nothing for your legs. Why don't you take picks of the outfits so we can lend a hand? xo |

If Ty says it's big, then trust him - it's BIG!

I think the black skirt, flats would be good and a dressy but not to brightly colored blouse would look fine. But I think the other girls would know more. Good luck!!

My uterus is screaming at me to MAKE MORE BABIES!!

I would wear a nice purple shirt. I love purple, it's not too much of a showy color, but it may look pretty nice with your features. I wore pants to most interviews, but I was in auto parts, so that might not help
. I can't wear heels and hate them as they are awful for your back and basically your body, but slightly elevated flats look better with a skirt.Good luck getting a new job to support your two kids ! |

I'm assuming a nude/beige nylons would be wisest as well? I think I'll have to get some new ones as mine are all in sad shape.Quote:

I have point toed black pumps that I could wear for an interview, though they hurt my feet. Actually all pumps/heals hurt my feet. I'll consider it, but that probably won't happen till at least next week. No time this week. ![]() Boss's wife looked over my resume today and she sent it on to the Carrer Development Office at the University and then sent it back to me. So hopefully the make over to my resume helps me actually get a job interview. At least once I find some more jobs to send it out to. |

Men Just Love To Stare At My Monster Nipples!!!

Can you got to payless or another shoe store w/ reasonable shoes?
I have shoes that have a inch hill on them, they still give my legs that nice look without killing my feet. ![]() What colors look best on you? I'd pick a color a you know looks great on you and maybe that makes your eyes stand out. As far as pantyhose goes (or whatever you called those nasty things ), I'm no help. I don't own any and refuse to wear them!!You know we are going to have to have pictures!! |
