Default What's New With You?

Ok everyone. Spill the beans. How is everyone doing? I'd love a short update on all of you and how the kids are doing.

I know I've been MIA. Things, of course, have been ultra crazy.

Katelynn is 12 - going on 18. She's moved into the being disrespectful stage of her childhood. She's growing up so fast. She's past the wanting to be a little girl into wanting to be a 'woman'. Wants to use makeup and date and kiss BOYS! David threatened her life if she came anywhere NEAR a boy.

Zachery is turning 8 next month and is becoming a major smarty pants. My delightful little man has learned how to talk back and become really annoying by demanding that he is right and you are wrong in whatever his arguement may be.

Austin is getting more and more adorable everyday. He's just started to walk and can now make it the entire length of a room without falling over. He is still mostly crawling, but, that will be coming to an end soon. He's talking a little, saying "ma-ma", "da-da" and "guh, guh"(for the dog) and "muh" for mine and "duh" for that. He's growing up so fast. I can't believe he's rounding 14 months at the end of this month! CRAZY how time flies.

Me, busy as hell. Work is crazy. Love, love, love my new boss I got in January. She's awesome, we have a great team. They have been changing policies and implimenting new projects and rules, which is why I have been sooooo busy. Hopefully things will lighten up once budgets are done the first week of August.

Ok, so, spill the beans the rest of you! I MISS YOU GUYS!!!!

We really miss you Bel!! Did you end up taking that job closer to home? It sounds like you have your hands full with the kids. I'm not looking forward to that part of my 2 growing up for sure! They are strong willed now, so I know I'm in for it. Hang in there!

I'm crazy busy at work too. I'm the manager for now while the manager is in Hawaii until Sept. We hired a new tech that is a challange to put it mildly. He has a lot of growing up to do, but unfortunately he is reflecting poorly on the rest of us until he shapes up We have a lot of stuff we want to do around the house, but our schedules aren't letting up so who knows when any of it will actually be done.

Thomas starts school next month and we just got all of his school supplies, backpack , and uniforms. He's got an EI at the moment that came on in the middle of the night, but he's feeling much better now.

Lauryn is as sassy as ever (telling Thomas "you're not listening to my words!"). I know we'll be in the Katelynn phase before I know it. She's really grown and filled out since surgery. She wears a size 8.5/9 shoe! She's gonna have skis for feet just like mommy No big plans for the big 3 year old b-day, just cake at home with us.

Let's see...

I'm wrapping up my Summer semester of college and have about a month break between now and Fall semester. Work has been keeping me challenged and I have a lot of travel slated right around school...uh blah!

Noah will be 2 next month, and he's growing up so quickly. At the speed of light really. He's really very bright and emotionally intuitive. I'm impressed at how well he's doing developmentally, considering how early he arrived.

Even so I've got some lingering doubts regarding his development, and I'm going to be addressing it with his ped next month. Next month is monumental, as we're supposed to get the proverbial "nod" if he is still exhibiting symtoms of prematurity or if he's caught up. I am waiting with baited breath.

What else? Oh, I left Scott, but then came back home. I missed Noah. Scott and I argue each and every day it seems like. He doesn't trust me and never well. So really, I suppose that I am just biding my time. The more things change the more they stay the same, as he has reverted back to the person that I began to hate.

I am in purgatory.

So, who's next?!

xx

I'm looking for a job. The more I think about it, the less I'm inclined to think I can make a go of changing the company into something I can make a living at that doesn't require a lot of travel. At least not pay the bills and do that. Though if I can't get a job - I guess it's always an option. I'm also trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. I really don't want to keep doing what I'm doing right now. I need to do something else.

Liriel is growing and being very verbal most of the time. She tells me most days now when I pick her up from DC that she misses me when I'm at work.

DB had his cast removed on Wednesday and now he needs to wear his leg brace for the next 3 weeks. They supposedly looked at his incision when they took the cast off, but later that day he was poking at his very soar leg and puss started coming out the incision site that had not healed up yet. But did he call the clinic back yesterday like I told him to? Of course not. So I made him talk to the nurse adviser last night and they put a message in to his doctor and now he has to go in an get it evaluated today. Then he complains about how he had planned to be headed out of town for the weekend by then. I guess he should have done it yesterday then huh? And he calls himself intelligent????? OK - that's my main man rant.

DB's 11-year-old is at our house. He doesn't want to do much and DB is annoyed by this and can't understand why he is so lazy. Hmmmmm....look in the mirror man. But for the most part he's being a pretty good kid. Taking swimming lessons and actually learning something this year.

Well lets see. work is just slammed. We are so busy right now and super short staffed and everyone is just so ugly because of how poorly the stock market is doing.

Kate is just a PITA and her father an even bigger one. She is having issues with her seasonal allergies and we just saw the dr to increase the dosage again. Hopefully this helps. She is working on the potty training and is doing pretty well. She wont sleep again, only will sleep when she can touch me, im thinking it is a bit of seperation anxiety. Hopefully it will pass and she will be back sleeping in her bed, not half underneath and half ontop of me in our bed. Ed is working horribly long hours and when is at home is just as crabby and lazy as ever. He just doesnt get that when I get home I still have to work, he feels as soon as he gets out of work, that work is over and he just doesnt want to do anything. We are looking forward to swimming in my parents bf pool tommorow and then next weekend Ed is gone for his annual race trip so Kate and I are going to a county fair on Saturday and on Friday Kate is going home with her DC teacher after work so mommy can go with friends for dinner and to see The X-Files. Then Sunday we are cooking out and some friends are coming over to eat and then Ed is back Monday night.

Dh was on vacation this week and we had an amazing time. We got my mother to watch the kids for 2 days and went down to Tampa on Monday, stayed at the Hard Rock Casino Hotel and went to Downtown Disney on Tuesday. We needed the time away more than we realized.
Wednesday DH and I worked on cleaning up the back area.
We tried taking the kids to the movies on Thursday (that was a disaster with Addie - Carter was fine).
Today was supposed to be a beach day, but the weather stunk. So we went to Chickfila and shopping. Now we are going to "Tropical Nights" downtown and then getting a babysitter so we can go see The Dark Knight with some friends.

Carter is really started to get to be a pistol-I really hope this is a phase. He is talking much more since his surgery, but his pronunciation isn't great. We go to the ENT again on August 11, I plan to talk to him again about the speech issue.

Addie is quite the drama queen! She is quite vocal. It makes me really realize Carter had a problem. She is really into saying MINE about everything!! And she wants everyting Carter has.

We aquired a new dog - little Toby. He's a 3 year old Papillion (pappy-yawn) and great with everybody!! We couldn't have asked for a better dog. He's about 13 pounds and full grown. He fetches, "dances", rolls over, and sits.

Everything is ok here so far.

Today I am going to see my dad for the first time in 5 years. I'm really nervous. DH and I have been fighting constantly about my dad. Making me start to wonder if we have the strong relationship that we originally thaught. He said he feels like my dad is providing for me like he can't, and he's mad about that.

Mike starts school next month again He will be going 5 full days a week. We are going to go look at used uniforms this morning. If not, I have to order htem from Lands End. It's the only "acceptable" company they let us order from. I swear Mike is 2 going on 15. He sasses back to me like a teenager. He's really into movies...3 of them to be exact...Cars, Grease, and Hairspray. He's fully potty trained, and getting sick of being at home.

Dean is growing up so fast! He's walking a little now, and saying Mama, Dada, and Mikey. He's still ultra clingy, still in my bed. He's got some teeth coming in I think.

I'm still working for the health dept as a Lactation Counselor. I worked mostly from home, but look foward to my kid free nights when i have to go in to the office.

DH is starting school in Sept. He will work all day, and then go to school from 5:30-10 every night, and 8-3 on Sat's. It's going to be a challenege, but we'll get through it...
