Isn't everyone's identity in jeopardy in some way? Sorry to hear your bank was cracked and your private info possibly stolen. Have you put a fraud alert out on your credit reports so that no one can take out credit on your SS numbers?

Nope but I work for a bank and we work with people from BNY/ Mellon all the time and let me tell you I can understand how this happened all of there employees are MORONS! This issue is affecting approx 4.5 million people.

Oh yeah they 'lost' like 9 back up tapes that weren't encrypted. Stupid b******ards! I just signed both of us up for the free 2 year credit monitoring service. This just chaps my ass! What would the world be like if we all did our jobs as adequately as they do?!?!?!?!?!

Pisses me off to..Though we have debt, DH and I work very hard to keep our credit scores where they are (high 700's) and it makes me mad they are SO careless with our personal information. It can take years to clean up identity theft.

Yep LaSalle is a division on BNY Mellon.....it affects more people than you can imagine....we get alot of calls from 3rd parties that BNY/MELLON/LaSALLE service...this includes bank account numbers, credit cards, mutual funds, money markets and client ssn and address info....it is alot more than most people realize.
