One of my cameras died this past week. I just wanted to cry because I was bidding on some new lenses for it on ebay, luckily I got outbid. So I have searched around and found the camera I am going to buy to replace it, the camera I am replacing had a bunch of more manual controls than a normal p&s, I also have a pocketsized point and shoot I use as well, so Im not totally without a camera right now. I found the best deal on Amazon but it is through Beach Camera. I wanted to know if anyone has ever bought anything there before I go ahead with the purchase. Im not going for a full DSLR because of price but am buying an advanced/semi dslr, it has the ability to add a bunch of lenses which I will do as $$$ allows. I wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with Beach before I buy from them, I have found the camera on other sites but it is just a much better deal from Beach.

Wow Lisa! You always find the best deals ever! This camera seems to have it all! I LOVE that is has a super macro feature! You will love that too! AND, it has great ISO settings, shutter speed, white balances and start up speed. NOT to mention wonderfully equipped at 9 mega-pixels. Sounds like you found a winner! I might have to look into this too!

About the ONLY thing that I can find wrong with it (IMO, of course) is the small LCD screen. It says it only has a 1.8 inches. Which, can be a bummer, but, I've worked with worse!

Sounds like a great deal to me!

Edited to add: I also wanted to mention how I LOVE that it's powered by regular AA's....that will save your costs of buying expensive battery packs - but, will have it's drawbacks on battery times. Something you might wanna note...

Actually the LCD is the same as my current camera....so that isnt an issue..I use the viewfinder more than the LCD, plus the LCD tilts so that is really cool.

As far as the AA's my advanced camera also takes them and I use the Photo Lithiums...a 4 pack is about $7.99 and I can currently take approx 150 pics and use it for about 1 and a half hrs without running out. My smaller p&s takes a special battery and it only lasts about 30 minutes and 45 photos or so, so I prefer the AA's. Plus HP(my part time job) usually sends us batteries all the time with our supplies(paper and ink), because they want us out taking pics and displaying our cameras(my camera im replacing and my p&s are both Hp's, plus I have one that they sent me to demo in stores, which I have to return if I quit), right now I have 10 4 pks so I dont have to worry about running out anytime soon.

Edited to add...cvs runs a deal on the photo batteries all the time last week they were 2 for $10.00 and sometimes BUY ONE GET ONE FREE.
