I got the best Christmas present this year!
|
OMG I went to Memories Galore. Our local Scrapbooking store. BIG MISTAKE> I asked for a good way to glue down letters that I cut out w/ my cricut. YUP! I left with the biggest Xyron sticker maker. I am so excited I have to hurry up and get the kids to nap so I can play.!!
Oh yeah, how do you pronounce Cricut?? Is it Cricket or Cry Cut? |

Tricia...I work for Xyron and I Remember When and can get you a discount on the cartridges. I am assuming when you said you bought the big one you bought the 900 series, because there are bigger ones than that but not carried in most stores because it runs $160.00. It is expensive to replace the cartridges for the 900, about $29.99. You may be better off with 500 series(500 or 510). A lot cheaper than the 900 series $15.99 for the refill. The major difference in the two is that the 900 series is 9" across where the 500 series is 4.5" across. Also there is a 250 which goes 2.5" across which would be better for smaller letters and the refill is $9.99. I have the 900, 500, 250 and the little mini X(150) which is great for small embellishments and small letters 1.5" across, refills are $4.99. I get the machines and refills at 25% off, so let me know if you want to buy any other machines or refills, or if you need any other help with them.
Another thing that works great on diecuts is the Xyron Cheetah...they have a 4" and a 2" runner that work great. |

Lisa, I didn't realize they went that big till I was looking at my info. I got the biggest the store had which was the 510. So it sounds like I got a pretty good deal.
I do need to get a cartridge. I will PM you |

I'm thinking about getting the larger Xyron and I'll remember that Lisa.
Tricia...the machine is pronounced like the bug, Cricket. You've been getting a lot of good scrapbooking things. ![]() |

I thought it was pronounced Cricket, but DH said when he bought it the store was sold out and when they called the other stores they called it a cry cut. I had never heard of that.
I particularly got the xyron 510 b/c I didn't think the X was going to be big enough. |

I also use the X for ribbon or very little embellishments, I probably get most of my use from the 510. The 900 is nice if trying to do larger items, the 250 is a decent size as well. Probably the most versatile is the 510. I love those cheetas, they are so easy to use, one swipe and your done, and they last me alot longer than tape runners, and are much easier to refill(I hate refilling the tape runners, especially the hermafix dotto, id rather just throw it out and buy a new one because you need to be a rocket scientist to figure it out). I carry almost all the xyron products, all adhesive machines and cheetas, and even the tape runners(which arent too bad for a tape runner).
