I didn't know if this belonged here or in food! So move it need be!

I LOVE to bake breads, rolls, muffins, and decorate cakes, cookies, etc.. I thought about taking a few classes at a local Michales that offeres classes. It might sound crazy but I thought if I slowly got myself into it and better then "maybe" I could do it for other ppl. I know I would rather have a home made birthday cake or goodies rather then just store baught ones. I was thinking of working moms that don't have time or hell, any mom that doesn't have time!

I think it would be a fun hobby that I could eventually make some $$ at. We don't have to have the extra $ from my babysitting to get by but if we want a lot of extras we sure need it. If everything went good with the cakes, etc. maybe I could do that instead in a few years and not babysit at all. It would still be something I could do at home while all the kids are at school and I would be able to come and go if they needed me.

I've taken the Wilton classes at Michaels, I had a TON of fun. And, dh's coworkers loved eating my class projects! I'm not "good" at it by any means...but I can hold my own.

For Brenna's 4th birthday I made her a Nemo cake. I had made chocolate shells, and the cake was blue - looked like waves. I made Nemo cookies and decorated them to look (obviously) like Nemo. And, on the top of the cake it looked like he was jumping out of the water. I wish I had a pic on this computer!!

My whole family was way impressed.

Even if you don't make a career of it, you'll have a great time!!!!

I agree with Kris go for it...in November a friend of mine is teaching a bunch of wilton classes at Joann's and told me she would offer me her employee discount to take the classes which is half off.....so me and another friend are taking her up on the offer. It is gonna be so alot of fun. I cant wait.

Do it Jen....That is something I am SO interested in doing also. I love to bake and would love to decorate cakes. I am always watching Food Network for shows on cake decorating. I want to take a class, but with my working evenings it is prohibative. UGH!
