I have been thinking of joining I Remember When as a consultant(actually they call them instructors) can you look at there catalog and let me know what you think of the products they sell. I am currently a Partylite consultant but I havent done any parties in a long time because nobody seems to want to have a party. I thought I could do this instead. They have a very cheap startup $35.00 and if I decide I only want to be a hobbyist I only have top place a $50.00 order every 3 months to keep it going and then I get a 25% discount on those items. I would definetly be able to do that for personal use.

Sorry I had to laugh at your bumps! I LOVE the papers and accessories. WOW. Beautiful stuff. Looks a little pricey though. What's normal paper go for in the scrapping stores? Like $0.50 a sheet, and these are $7.99 for 12? I usually buy the bulk ones from Michaels. I think you should GO for it though. I'm sure with all of us scrappers on here, you can get by doing it! |

At my LSS(local scrapbook store) Bazzil,Chatterbox and the other namebrand papers go for $0.70 each so it would be cheaper than buying there. They have alot of stuff that I havent seen there. I also have been thinking of possibly selling some scrapbook stuff via my existing website-just adding sub domain to it that is a scrabook related name(www.sudsnmore.com and www.sudsnmore.net are my current sites) I have signed up for some wholesale accts but the minimums are kinda high. I already have a reseller tax id so that is not an issue..just coming up with some money upfront to get started. This would be cheaper. I signed up for wholesale accts with Making Memories and Prima Flowers(Minimums start at $250-300 with subsequent purchases being $100.00). But that is alot to start with. I could also sell some of these items via ebay. Im trying to start something that I can possibly quit my FT job and work out of my house.

Hi Lisa,
Hey I just saw that Kaitlynn and I have the same birthday! Is she turning out to be quite the little Virgo?I guess I had heard people mention I Remember When before, but I never saw their catalog. Very cute stuff! I like how it all coordinates so easily. At first glance, I also thought the paper looked expensive... I shoot for 50 cents a page too. I usually avoid it all and use solid color back and patterned for matts or accents but I am getting off track.... I did like their little accents though, I thought those were priced out ok. See I'll pay a little more more those since they jazz up the solid background. Here's the thing though, I think to do well with this stuff, you would have to push it in home parties rather than online. I think seeing it up close gets you to go for it and you WANT it, but online it's not as easy to fall in love with it, and the price thing hits you harder. There's no emotional attachment, like how you were saying you get kits for people to make at the parties. (which sounds like a BLAST to me! I would even pay the $5 to make it, and then still buy afterwards (though a perk like free shipping would be nice) Chipboards items are the 'In' thing right now! How often to they come out with a new cattie or new products? I tell ya, a $35 start up and only $50 every quarter sounds like a breeze! You know I'm a demo for SU and they are only making it harder for us demos to hobbyists... I am actually thinking about letting it go after I get all my announcements made and the baby's scrapbook started. I know there is so much talk about how you CAN make homebusinesses into FT jobs, but you relaly have to have a sales-orientated personality for it... are any of us that pushy and goal-oriented when we've got babies on the brain? It seems like ALOT of work, but then again, there's profiles in my SU magazines that shows it can be done! OK, so long reply to a long post, sorry. I think this stuff would be HOT in home parties, but not so sure it would be flying off the shelves online... you might want to doulble check, too, that they don't have any policies against ebay specifically. Let us know what you decide to do! Sarah |

You were right on the prices. It's been so long since I've been in the stores (because I'm trying to use up my 'stash'). Sounds like a great idea to me too. And, I see what Sarah is saying. I agree. I am more apt to buy, buy, buy - especially when I see it in person and get 'attached' to it. She may have a point there. But, at $50 a quarter, that really is only $16 a month or $4 a week. That's nothing!
Good luck and definitely let us know. I certainly would be interested. |

Thanks guys that is the info I was looking for. I think I am going to sign up. I liked the kits that they offer for you to use in the home for demos. Very cute(this month is a chipboard mini album) I thought I could do what the consultant that used to do my Stampin Up parties does...she has a workshop(at her own home) and you pay $5.00-10.00 to do the projects(usually 2-3, sometimes it is cards and sometimes mini albums or even sometimes scrapbook pages that all you have to do is add the photo to it when you get home) and you arent required to buy anything. If you do buy she give you $5.00 off under $50.00 bucks and then over $100.00 she gives you free shipping. Plus I could just do regular parties in others homes that I pay the expense of the kits and just allow people to do the project in hopes they will like the project and buy more products. I may just do it to start out with to get my own products and discount(25% off) for some close friends.....HINT HINT!!!! And see if I can get the word out that I am doing this and see who would like to do some parties or maybe do some workshops at my house too.
