Queen of the arcade... but not for long =)
|
So we are getting ready for Tai's 2nd b-day and last night we decided to do a shaped themed party. I am going to serve cake and maybe ice cream but I wanted to serve snack/appetizers too as some people will have to travel to get here. I have a few ideas on appetizers that look like different shapes but I was wondering if you girls hand any good ideas.
We are mostly trying to stick to basic shapes like circles, rectangles, and triangles. It's a little more tricky than I thought because even if I find round crackers people just think, oh there's so crackers. So I'm really trying to find things that are differnt or aren't usually that shape. Any thoughts? |

check out this website...it has a few ideas using Reynolds Fun shaped baking tins....I just bought some of them for a buck at big lots but they are pretty cheap at the grocery store too.

those could add a lot of fun! and more shapes
I also had another question I just thought of. How high can you stack cake layers before you need the dowel thingys? I was thinking of making a square cake and putting a circle on that and a triangle on that but I don't want it to collapse on me. |

I love that idea as a theme! You could definitely find crackers in circles, squares and rectangles.....but I guess you're right that people might not realize that's why you have those crackers instead of others. Maybe cut out pieces of cheese in the shapes of circles, triangles, etc?? Or you could do sandwiches and cut them into circles, triangles, etc.

And make sure you level the bottom and middle layer or your whole cake will collapse. BTDT ![]() Pick up a melon baller and do circle/spheres. Cut other fruit into cubes. Pick up some cookie cutters for the cheese idea and don't forget Jello Jigglers. ![]() Last edited by Koloe; 02-04-2008 at 11:02 PM. |
