Ok, The last 2 times I have made candied yams there is NO syup, other times it doesn't turn into "candied" yams. Does someone have the magic trick?

I drain the canned yams and make a sauce on the stove in a pot with syrup, brown sugar and butter. Pour over the top of the yams in an 8x8 pyrex dish and top with marshmellows.

I can get you the 'true' recipe by 12:00 though if you want.

I don't have ANY extra pots so I always use a pyrex and it cooks for about an hour. I just haven't had any luck with the candying part. 12:00 you goin' to call me?

Sorry, had a last minute meeting at 12 and had to meet a doc.

Maple Glaze Sweet Potatos:
1 large can yams, drained
3 T butter
1/4 C syrup
2 T Brown sugar
1/2 C marshmellows

In small pan, or in microwave bowl, mix butter, syrup and brown sugar and cook until a thick glaze. Pour over yams in an 8x8 dish. Top with marshmellows. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes.
