Get your minds out of the gutter . Last night and this morning I pumped because I had extra. I always start at a low suction but for some reason the milk comes towards my nipple but then won't come out. I can hand express but it won't come out when I pump. That was just last night and this morning.
Anyone have any idea???? To much suction, to little?? I dont' want to lose the GREAT supply I have.
Medela PIS. I normally don't have this problem, it is very recent!! This afternoon also. I really don't want to lose my supply. I do have extra and would like to keep it that way. I had to quit nursing Bailey b/c I simply ran out of milk at 10 months. So far, so good with Tierney. I won't to keep nursing her.
If the milk is right at my nipple (I have a ton of little bumps where the milk has let down) what in the world, or WHY won't it come out?? Tierney has gotten pretty agressive at nursing. Squeezing both with both hands and pulling back. Do you think I just need to do compressions while pumping?
You can try compression. I would recommend trying some relaxation techniques while pumping. You might just be having trouble relaxing - which makes pumping very difficult.
When was the last time your replaced the filters (or what ever the various replaceable parts are called)? Have you check to see if your tubing is leaking? It's possible you may just need to replace some parts or some thing is lose.

I agree....you may have bad valves(those little white flapper things) also turn both knobs down low to start and increase as you go, I noticed if I left both of mine up, when I started to pump I wouldnt get much...I would try some massage before hand and maybe some heat(heating pad or warm rag) and see if that helps as well...I agree also on relaxing...i had to read a book when I pumped or I would stress about it as well.
Filter? The pump has a filter?? Didn't even know. This is the pump I had with Gage. But I only used it for 2 months with Gage and several with Bailey, so it isn't like I used it every day like it was intended.
