"Yo Mama!"
|
Hey guys, thanks for helping me stick to this. I LOVE IT! It doesn't really hurt anymore. In fact, I am getting the hang of it so much, I am able to do some cleaning and playing with Cayten while feeding her. That is helping so much. I am having a super hard time at night. I just don't want to get out of bed. I think I am going to practice the laying down nursing when I am not so tired so when I am tired, I will be able to do it.
I do need help though. The pain is gone but I don't know if I am getting her enough food. She is having enough wet diapers but only 1-2 maybe 3 soiled diapers. I am trying to pump after she eats but I don't know how much that is helping. I feed her and she is hungry like 20 minutes later. My one breast doesn't produce much at all. Every time I pump I get a half of an ounce to a full ounce but nothing more. The other makes a lot more. I am still nursing with a shield of this side because she wont latch onto nothing. |

Giving away FREE crotch extenders -- do I have any takers??

I'm so glad things are begining to get better for you. I also had a tough time laying down and feeding Thomas. It wasn't until I had Lauryn that I had it figured out. I think I just had myself so worked up that I couldn't relax to make it work. Keep up pumping after each feed. As long as she has enough wet diapers then she should be getting enough. I think the # of poops is pretty normal. You're doing great momma!!

I got the best Christmas present this year!

Callie, I am so glad that you aren't getting into a groove. Don't forget about growth spurts. She will nurse pretty much constantly when she has them. The best advice I can give you when you try to lay down nursing is to have her tucked into you as close as possible and make sure that she is below your nipple just a hair so that her head has to tilt up. This has really helped us so that Tierney's nose doesn't get plugged by my boob. Hang in there. You think it is easy now just wait another 2 months. ![]() ![]() |

I'm so glad it's getting better. The first few weeks are hard. Especially with the Juandice and a toddler running around. ![]() FIRST - Don't assume your not making enough because of what you are getting while pumping. Your body doesn't respond the same way to a pump as it does to a baby. And it's normal for one side to produce more than the other. SECOND - Don't stress out about the laying down and nursing. It took me months to really get it down pat. But even before I had it down, it helped a lot. When they are so tiny it's harder, because they still need so much help with positioning. But good golly is it worth it. THIRD - Sounds like she is getting enough food. She will go through many growth spurts over the next couple months and want to nurse frequently to up your supply. Chances are certain times of the day will be worse than others. I found evening hours I might as well forget doing anything, because mine would nurse for hours (or so it seemed) in the early evening for a long time. It's called cluster feeding. If she starts producing a lot of green poop, vs the yellow, musturd colored stuff, then you might need to work on getting more hind milk in to her. But for now, it sounds like your dong fine. A green poop here and there is no big deal. ![]() Keep up the great job! ![]() |

I totally agree! The shield WILL hinder your supply...take it from a BTDT...i'm STILL suffering side effects now, and he's 6 months...try to wean as soon as you are able. The shield was a LIFE SAVER for me. I couldn't nurse without it for the first 4 months.... |
