"Yo Mama!"
|
UGH. Why do I keep having these feelings of I can~t do this breastfeeding thing, I don~t want to bf, and yet deep down in my heart, it is all I want. I am so selfish. I don~t want to because of selfish reasons like formula is more convenient. I feel like it has been such a long stretch already and she isn~t even a week old. How am I gonna keep making it. I feel like I can~t have anyone over, I can~t go anywhere, and I am neglecting my house and Cayten all because of bfing. Because of the jaundice, she eats for an hour, and then eats again in an hour. How do you all do it for a year or more. Although it is getting better, my boobs hurt. Is there ever a time when they don~t.
The End PS sorry the punctuation is all funky, my dh did something so he could type in portuguese and I don~t know how to take it off. UGH |

Men Just Love To Stare At My Monster Nipples!!!
|
Your feelings are normal! It is very time consuming in the begining. The first couple of weeks is really the hardest. Just think about how much easier it is to whip a boob out when she is hungry versus washing and heating bottles.Right now try to concentrate on feeding her. This will pass and it will get easier, I promise!! There were days that my dh only saw me on the couch due to the amount of time it took to nurse a newborn. There are many ways to get out and nurse with a baby. I use to go to walmart, get my non perishable stuff then head to the dressing rooms. Once Hannah was fed I would go get the rest of my groceries and head home. The women loved it because they got to watch her grow for several months. Nursing in front of a mirror will allow you to see what others will see. This will show you that you are not flashing as much skin as you think. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I agree with Jessica. (The smilies aren't working.)
I was there too, it is really hard in the beginning especially with a two year old. It will get better. I never thought I'd make it to a year nursing Addie, she took so much time and attention for nursing, but here we are. There were many times I was crying to my DH that I just can't do it. It really is easier in the end. You can do this. ![]() Do you have any family in town? Can someone watch Cayten for you? That might ease some of your stress. Then you can either nurse and relax or nurse and clean a little. Remember, she's only a week old, it takes a while to get adjusted to having two children. |

It is VERY difficult in the beginning. I say for the first 2 weeks at least. I consider bf'ing as more convient. I CAN just take her with me and feed her, not having to lug bottles around. People can come over, just throw a blanket over you shoulder. You will be suprised how people are very respectful of your privacy when you are bf'ing. Hang in there, these are the hardest days. ![]() ![]() |

It is hard in the beginning. And you are in pain from the nipple adhesions breaking and working on latch with a newborn, and having them sucked on CONSTANTLY. It's not easy in the beginning. But it sure is easier later once you are more comfortable with nursing and know what you are doing and it doesn't hurt anymore. YES the pain does stop. ![]() I've taken Liriel from 2 weeks of age traveling - A wedding when she was 2 weeks old. A gaming convention when she was 4 weeks old. Several convention after that including over New Years a trip that was around 10 hours away. And 2 summers in a row up to Canada - 11 hour drive not including stopping. Sure was nice to be nursing when the camper broke down. I didn't have to stress about how I was going to feed my infant. |

"Mom, put Ty back in your belly ~ he keeps touching my toys"

It does get easier. You should be proud of yourself for wanting to and trying to do it, especially since you didn't with Cayten and now you have a 2 yo to deal with in addition to a new baby. You won't always be this sore and you won't always feel stuck. I think for me with Ty I felt that way regardless of the nursing, I was resentful at first of all the time I felt he was taking from Jake. He was suoer fussy so it was hard to entertain them both. This will pass, hang in there, you can do it.![]() |

I love my boys!!

I felt the EXACT same way you do!! I was trying to keep up with the house, take care of my toddler, and learn how to nurse my infant, with jaundice. It's really hard, and it sucks. Plain and simple. Hang in there....it will get easier. If you want som |
