What is causing this?

I nurse, no pain at all. About 10-15 minutes when i'm done, my nipple THROBS! It's like i have to hold it to make the pain stop....normal?

Probably. See if you can locate some diary free acidophilus (actually most of it is diary free), that might help you fight off Thrush. If you could eat dairy, I would say start eating yogurt. Obviously that's not an option for you.
