Ok you would think I would have this down being #3 but apparently I don't.

My nipples are killing me and at night Tierney is getting a ton of air and is then up for hours after crying b/c of the gas.

Sometimes it seems like she has a perfect latch, nothing hurts.

Other times I can feel her pinching my nipples or she is clicking or smacking when she is nursing and my nipples are screaming STOP!!!.

When I latch her on I open her mouth wider with either my pinky or my first finger, but still........


I also am not sure if it is her top and bottom lip curling inward and how to get her to stop that???

Can anyone help me?? I am thinkin about going into the LL, but we really don't have the $80 that is costs to go. WDID????

Do you have to pay to go to the meetings? You don't have to for mine.

I would pull Liril's top and bottom lips out after she latched. Still do some times. If she is latched wrong, detach and try again. Make sure she is in the correct position before latching as well.

I was also going to suggest LLL.
Another thought, if you could find a LC in training they need the experience of counseling. I don't remember if they can charge, but if they do I'm sure it's minimal.
Have you tried kellymom.com? There was always helpful info on there.

Addie's mouth was so small and I always had to help her open her mouth really wide with my finger. I also would have to pull her lips out after she latched. I still have to pull her upper lip out sometimes.

I understand what you are going through.. I had the same problem with Brody.. and sometimes still, he doesn't open his mouth wide enough (because he is a lazy baby lol) and I just have to pull his chin down a little bit with my finger or get him off and relatch trying to keep his mouth open at the same time... it is frustrating but it does get better.. he was gassy for about the first 5 or 6 weeks.. i know i can call my hospital's lactation consultants at any time during the day and they will talk to me for free for as long as I need.. they helped A LOT during those frustrating few weeks :) good luck girlie
