I love my boys!!
|
All of a sudden, there aint nothing coming out....he starts to suck, it takes a few minutes, and then when that is done with, no more comes out...dose that make any sense? When I use the new pump I can go for like 20-30 minutes, but when I nurse, it's like 5-10, and that's it...I have tried warm compresses, mothers milk tea, relaxing, etc...nothing is helping...he's not getting satisified, or full...what do i do????

Working Hard Keeping the Hussy's In Line

You could try pumping for 10-15 after he's done to see what you get out?
How long does it take for you to letdown? For example, When I pump, I let down immediately and then let down again in 10 min and then have a final one at 25-30 minutes. |

Because I said so, that's why!

Like Belinda said, it can take 5-15 min between let downs. He's probably getting the first let down and then upset because he wants more NOW and not wanting to work at it. Pumping when he's done might help you tell if there is more there, but he's not patient enough to get it. Do you try putting him on the other side when he finishes with the first side? I know you said you seemed to be having supply issues with the other side, but after you get a let down on the main side, there may be more ready to come out on the other side.
Some babies also eat much faster than others. I've read that most children eat faster when they are older. Can't say that my child has read that though. He may need to nurse longer to up your supply too. That's the only way to really up it - more stimulation - either with nursing and/or pumping. |

Some women bake buns......

This is Jayden to a T. He will only tolerate one letdown at a time usually, so when he does this I have to nurse one side and when the flow slows way down I have to put him on the other side, then back to the first and back to the second. By the time he's back to the first side it only takes a minute or so to letdown again (and plus he is not starving so he'll wait it out). It took us a few days to get the hang of it but its working out nicely for us. I've read when you switch nurse like this you have to do both sides at least twice so it doesn't hinder your supply. If he happens to not take the first side again I always pump afterwards to get the second letdown.
