Rebecca can probably answer this....
what can i take to make me feel better? I have not taken anything but tylenol and my antibiotic, but i need something to clear the congestion, as it's starting to go into my chest. Everything is "full" feeling, and i have a ton of post nasal drip...my ribs are starting to hurt...whats safe, and whats my best bet? |

I try to avoid most drugs myself. But I'll use Acedamedifin (Tylonal) for pain/fever as needed. I would use Vicks Vapor rub - especially at night to help with congestion. If it's getting really bad I might take 1 or 2 doeses of suedaphed (or it's current OTC equvilent) - but you don't want to take much of that as it might effect your milk supply. If you have a cough or it's getting into your chest, you can take Muccenix - but make sure it's one without the decongestent, so you have more control over how much decongestent you are consuming.
Spicey food can help clear the sinuses - spicey Ramon noodles (nice and cheap) works - for temporary relief. But with Dean's intolerance issues this probably isn't an option. A nice hot shower can give you some relief - help clean out your sinuses for a bit. Running a humidifier can help. Saline nose spray I've heard works well.
