I got the mini pill prescription yesterday.. How long do I have to be on it til we can be totally unprotected? ALSO.. we tried to BD yesterday for the first time since Brody and I had NO IDEA how painful it could be!! For some reason, I thought I would be the exception to the rule, especially since I had a c-section.. no no, I was wrong.. It hurt! We haven't done it again yet.. I'm afraid to! lol I guess that's the best form of BC lol

While breastfeeding your Estrogen levels are lower and that will contribute to vaginal dryness, which equal pain/discomfort while . So I HIGHLY recommed you pick up some lubercant and use it. It will help. And just take it slow and let DH know he needs to take it slow.

As for the mini-pill - you need to take it at the same time every day. If you skip any pills - catch up and use another form of protection. Normally it takes 1 month on BC pills for them to be effective. But since you just had a baby and are BF - chances are you don't have to wait, as you are probably not fertile yet anyway. Of course we also have some children on this board conceived a few months after mom gave birth and was on the mini pill - so nothing is 100%.

Yeah, I definitely don't want to get pregnant again THIS soon.. I made DH go out and buy lubricated condoms lol.. we tried it again and I made him go SUPER slow.. still not too enjoyable, but it's getting better..

I recommend actually getting a lubricant vs. just using lubricated condoms.

Try Astroglide - it's one of the better ones. http://www.drugstore.com/products/pr...BUY-PLST-0-CAT

There are others that are good too, but I've not tried them.

It will get better after you've done it a few times and I second picking up some lube. As far as the minipill........ it didn't work so good for us . I conceived Jayden while on the minipill and breastfeeding (actually I was exclusively pumping) when Peyton was 4-5 months old and I had been taking it faithfully since 6w PP....
