Default sea salt

I heard somewhere that sea salt tastes better than regular salt. I wondered if any of you know a reason (other than no iodine) that I shouldn't use this instead of regular salt to cook with. I found it pretty cheap at the store ($.49/pound) so I bought some and didn't know how/when to use it.
