Last year we went to the convention in Nashville, TN but we're the same distance from St. Louis, MO too so we could go to either one. You're right...nothing is really close to you. If it were in Chicago I'd meet you up there and we could go together.
None of my family is into it either. My mom and SIL just roll their eyes at me (whatever?!?!) My Aunts love it but my one Aunt does poetry and the other is an excellent sewer. My DH sister loves it and we rubberstamp together and make cards but we don't get to spend a lot of time together as she's up in Chicago. Finally I got to be good friends with a girl at work several years ago and we've ended up being best friends. We went to the CK convention together and rooming at Croptoberfest this weekend. Her and her husband are such a sweet couple. She threw my baby shower for me while I was pregnant with Hayden plus made me a diaper bag. She's so talented and one of the most awesome seamstress I've ever known. She designes things and will adapt patterns. I guess that's why she's a packaging engineer. My Creative Memories consultant and I have got to be good friends too and we get together a lot. She's about 10 years old than me and she went through infertility problems too. They've adopted a little girl from China. Her middle son and my son have got to be friends too.
